The Royal Mail have been in touch with local school to ask if we make pupils aware of dog attacks on postmen and women.  In raising awareness with school children they are hoping they can help to prevent future attacks and reduce injuries to postal workers.

They are asking that you be mindful when opening a door to sign for parcels as the most placid dog can behave differently when they see a stranger at the door.  Lots of dog attacks occur when dogs are alone in the garden or not supervised when Royal Mail are delivering.

Royal Mail are asking that you keep your dog inside when mail is being delivered and if a post person has a parcel and knocks at the door that your dog is safely behind another secure door.
