Chocolate oranges

edf

We have already received a number of chocolate oranges and our wall is progressing nicely.  If you have yet to donate your chocolate orange, can you please bring it to the office by Wednesday morning, as the oranges are being collected at the end of the day.

Thank you very much,

I am sure the medical staff and volunteers working over Christmas will thoroughly enjoy this treat!

INTERFAITH THEMED WEEK

Next week will be our Interfaith week in school.  We will have lots of visitors in school, from a range of different faiths such as Judaism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. In assemblies and class some of our children will talk about their own faith such as Hinduism for example.  Children will be taking part in lots of activities and artwork linked to world religions.

CHRISTMAS GROTTO AND FAYRE

We would like to thank everyone who donated an item for the Christmas Fayre and everyone who came along and supported the event.  The night was a brilliant success and although we do not have a final figure we estimate the amount raised to be over £1800.  This amount will go towards Christmas events and parties for the children, supporting the themed events in school and playground markings.  Children have asked for more outdoor games for lunchtime and break times and new playground markings will be required. As re-planning a playground with new markings is very expensive, all future fundraising will go towards this project.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for organising and running the stalls on the night, without their commitment and hard work leading up to events, events like the Christmas Faye would not be able to go ahead.

MINI POLICE

Our Mini Police took afternoon tea with the Chief of Merseyside Police this week, they came back very well fed, having tasted a number of mouthwatering delights.  We knew the afternoon must have been a success because we received this email before the children had even returned.

“I would just like to take this opportunity to tell how well behaved your children were this afternoon at Police HQ.  They were an absolute pleasure to be around, they all have lovely manners, were very pleasant and generally fabulous!

They were an absolute credit to themselves, their school and the Mini Police.”

It was lovely message to receive and we are very proud of the children.

Nasal immunisation flu spray

Due to having no water in school the school had to be closed on the afternoon of 14th November, after we had no water in school, the Nasal immunisation flu programme had to be suspended and a further date was arranged for Tuesday 11th December.

The St helen’s Immunisations team have asked the school to inform parents if they had previously given permission, but in the meantime have had their child immunised at the doctors, if you could send a note to them, via the school office on Monday 10th December.  This will ensure your child does not have the nasal spray next week.

CHANGE TO CHRISTINGLE TODAY – Years 3 and 4

Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast today the Years 3 and 4 Christingle will now have to take place in the KS2 hall at 2:30p.m.  As there are 2 year groups involved and very limited space, we can only allow 2 people per child and it will be standing room only.

I appreciate this may be very disappointing for you but as the diary is full with other commitments/performances and the children have already made their Christingle oranges the Christingle will need to go ahead today.

Access will be via the playground, please queue at the ramp at the back of the KS2 hall from 2:25pm

Please do not ask staff to open other entrances as they are not allowed to do so and refusal may offend.

Once the Christingle has finished could you please make your way as quickly as possible to the playground as the hall will need to be set up for the gymnastic club showcase/awards for parents.

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation.
