Acting up in R.E. (3JW)

In the lead up to Easter, we will be looking at different parts of the Easter story, and generating big questions through drama. Today we told the story of 'The Last Supper', using the art of Davinci and then creating a freeze-frame. Children then wrote questions that they would like to ask Jesus and his disciples.

The children came up with some really thought-provoking questions, wanting to know how the disciples felt when Jesus said that one of them would betray him, and also quizzing Judas on why he was going to betray his master.

Reverend Dozie Visit

On Wednesday of this week, we were privileged to welcome Rev'd Dozie Moneme from St John's Church into our school. He led both a KS1 and KS2 Assembly on the theme of this week's big question. Rev'd Dozie then joined our Chair of Governors, Mr Tucker, on a learning walk of our school, accompanied by Mrs Whalley and two children from 6 SP.

Celebration Assembly

British Values Blog

On Friday, our KS2 assembly was all about celebrating our achievements; both in school and out of school. We celebrated our own British Values when discussing our tolerance, diversity and respect for ourselves and each other.

6SP won the KS2 reading award this week and lots of children received certificates for fantastic work on poetry in English lessons. We were treated to amazing performance poetry from one of our year 4 pupils.

Two of our year 5 children also received awards from their dance clubs, which they attend outside of school. We left our Assembly feeling very proud of ourselves, and each other.
