As part of our positive and ongoing relationships with our Muslim neighbours, the children in our school were invited to take part in a Mother's Day poster competition with other primary schools in St Helens. On Saturday 10th March, our children who were winners in the competition were invited to a presentation event to be awarded with a medal for their hard work.

Lots of our children attended the event with parents and Mrs Ireland and Mrs Whalley went along too.

The children enjoyed lots of amazing activities during the afternoon, including henna tattoos, Islamic art and Islamic writing. Some tried on a hijab and were given one as a gift to take home.
Our Muslim neighbours talked about the importance of mothers, and being part of a loving family.
The children then shared their experience in our school Assembly on Monday.

It was an amazing event to be a part of and we are extremely grateful to our Muslim neighbours for their hospitality.
