Playground Activity Leader training

Today, the captains of our colour teams attended a Playground Leader training course at Sutton Academy. They looked at the qualities of a good leader, how to adapt activities to make them suitable for ages using the S.T.E.P strategy and then a range of games and activities that they themselves can bring back to school and lead during lunch times.

This was the first programme of its kind to be run by Sutton Academy and the children were a credit to the school and really enjoyed their training.

LFC Football Tournament

We all had a fantastic time this morning at Anfield Community Centre. We played against some excellent schools from across Merseyside.

Everyone demonstrated excellent behaviour and sportsmanship in every match they participated in. You should be so proud of yourselves.

In assembly time on Friday, we will share our experience with the rest of KS2.

Boccia Tournament

Today Thatto Heath took part in the Boccia tournament held at Lansbury Bridge School. It was a fantastic event and there were 15 schools involved in the morning competition.

We played incredibly well and showed both great sportsmanship and teamwork whilst also having lots of fun.

We won 2 out of our 3 matches and narrowly missed out on the semi finals. An excellent time was had by all.

Y5 and 6 Athletics Tournament

Today we enetered an athletics tournament at Broadway sports centre. We competed in a wide range of events including: an obstacle relay, relay races, a paarlauf, chest push, standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump, soft javelin and the speed bounce.

We all had a fantastic morning and enjoyed competing in the range of activities. Out of the eleven schools who attended we came fifth overall. Well done to everyone who took part.
