In science, we've been finding out about different rocks, including sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic.
We also discovered how rocks turn into soil and created our own storyboards about 'Roger the Rock' and how he evolved into 'Simon Soil'. We still need to complete this work but the children have made an excellent start.
This week, we have been looking at non-fiction texts, and in particular, instructions. We looked at the features of instruction texts and planned our own, based on our own experience of making fossils in science, as part of our 'rocks and soils' topic. We are improving our skills in assessing our own work against a success criteria. We have also created instructional videos to try and show children in KS1 how to make their own fossils.
